Stability radii for positive linear time-invariant systems on time scales

We deal with dynamic equations on time scales, where we characterize the positivity of a system. Uniform exponential stability of a system is determined by the spectrum of its matrix. We investigate the corresponding stability radii with respect to structured perturbations and show that for positive systems the complex stability radius and the positive stability radius coincide. 2000 Mathematic...

Robust Stability of Positive Continuous Time Systems

In this note a simple formula for the real stability radius of uncertain positive linear continuous time systems is established and it is shown that the real stability radius coincides with the complex one. Arbitrary disturbance norms induced by monotonic vector norms (e.g. p-norms, 1 p 1) are considered. The distance of intervals of positive systems from instability is also determined.

A Maximum Principle for the Stability Analysis of Positive Bilinear Control Systems with Applications to Positive Linear Switched Systems

We consider a continuous-time bilinear control system with Metzler matrices. Each entry in the transition matrix of such a system is non-negative, making the positive orthant an invariant set of the dynamics. Motivated by the stability analysis of positive linear switched systems (PLSSs), we define a control as optimal if, for a fixed final time, it maximizes the spectral radius of the transiti...

Stable Rough Extreme Learning Machines for the Identification of Uncertain Continuous-Time Nonlinear Systems

‎Rough extreme learning machines (RELMs) are rough-neural networks with one hidden layer where the parameters between the inputs and hidden neurons are arbitrarily chosen and never updated‎. ‎In this paper‎, ‎we propose RELMs with a stable online learning algorithm for the identification of continuous-time nonlinear systems in the presence of noises and uncertainties‎, ‎and we prove the global ...

Global Finite Time Synchronization of Two Nonlinear Chaotic Gyros Using High Order Sliding Mode Control

In this paper, under the existence of system uncertainties, external disturbances, and input nonlinearity, global finite time synchronization between two identical attractors which belong to a class of second-order chaotic nonlinear gyros are achieved by considering a method of continuous smooth second-order sliding mode control (HOAMSC). It is proved that the proposed controller is robust to m...
